At its plant in Neumünster, Germany, Heinrich Nagel GmbH & Co. KG needed to move meat by-products more than 8 meters up from under the crusher and approx. 40 meters along the ceiling to the holding bin.
JS Proputec replaced the existing piston pump with a Lamella Pump LAP350 and an Infeed Hopper, fitted to the existing production setup.

Since 1912, Heinrich Nagel GmbH & Co. KG has grown from a traditional rendering business into an internationally active B2B supplier of feed and food ingredients, products made from natural fats and oils, and pet food.
The company, part of the SARIA Group since 2011, collects and processes animal by-products from slaughterhouses and the meat-processing industry and turns them into valuable raw materials.
At the plant, by-products arrive at the unloading area and pass through a crusher before further processing. From under the crusher, a piston pump moved the material more than 8 meters up and then approx. 40 meters along the ceiling to the holding bin.
The piston pump handled the task in an existing production environment with limited space.
Heinrich Nagel contacted JS Proputec because they wanted to replace the piston pump in this part of the line.
The replacement had to fit into the existing plant. The new pump needed to work within the available space and connect to the existing pipeline route, so the rest of the line could continue as before.
The material also set clear requirements. Crushed meat by-products are a mix of bones, fat, and soft tissue, and the pump had to move this mix reliably over a long distance with a high vertical lift.
The plant had three goals for the new setup:

Working closely with Heinrich Nagel's team, JS Proputec delivered a Lamella Pump LAP350 with an Infeed Hopper, fitted to the existing production setup.
The project scope included:
The Lamella Pump was selected for its low power consumption and low maintenance needs. It moves the by-products in a continuous flow through a closed pipeline, with no loss of efficiency compared with the previous setup.
Today, the Lamella Pump moves the by-products from unloading to processing. All three goals were met:
The new setup also brought benefits beyond the original goals:

What made the difference:
The Lamella Pump and Infeed Hopper in this case are part of a wider range of equipment for transporting and handling by-products in rendering and fish processing. Every product can be combined and adapted to fit your production line.
